Type Locality and Naming
Along the Sarykul river, Kara-Tyube mountains. V.S. Korsakov in 1958 (1960). Stratotype in the Sarykul river.
Synonym: Sarykul Suite, Сарыкульская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Quartz-albite, quartz-albite-mica slates, layers of quartzites, marbles, basic metavolcanites. Thickness 1100-1300m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Relationships with neighboring sedimentary-metamorphic formations are tectonic.
Upper contact
Relationships with neighboring sedimentary-metamorphic formations are tectonic. Schematic stratigraphic column indicates the upper contact as Lolabulak Fm
Regional extent
Northwestern mountains of Kara-Tyube.
